摘要 GPS大气探测(GPS气象学)目前已成为国际GPS应用的热点问题,可分为地基和空基应用两个方向。目前,地基的研究和应用技术已基本成熟,并从技术研究走向业务应用;在空基探测方面,国际上很多国家和地区都实施并发射了GPS应用气象小卫星,美国国家极轨环境卫星(NPOES)和欧盟极轨气象卫星系列(METOP)也都将搭载星载的GPS接收机,用于对地的掩星探测。GPS气象学已成为卫星气象学的一部分,它所获得的稳定的覆盖全球的对流层和平流层温度、气压、水汽和空间电子浓度的廓线资料,对气象预报、气候变化和空间天气的研究业务应用具有重要的应用价值。 GPS meteorology,composed of ground-based and space-borne sounding,has been one of the important GPS applications so far.It is basically mature for ground based applications,and experiencing operational transition.As far as to space-borne GPS meteorology,there have been many launched GPS satellites and missions.In the future,GPS receiver for atmospheric occultation is one of payload for satellite in both NPOES and METOP.GPS meteorology will be part of satellite meteorology.The dataset of pressure,temperature,water vapor and electron content obtained by GPS sounding will be of great value for meteorological forecast,climate and space weather.
