摘要
长时期以来,《失乐园》中的撒旦一直是人们关注的焦点,其形象的复杂性激发人们从不同角度进行阐释。我们认为,对撒旦形象的阐释要基于一个前提条件:撒旦究其本质是"恶棍"形象,这一点在诗中是不曾改变的;同时又进一步对撒旦形象的复杂性作了心理解读,认为它是个人无意识与集体无意识相结合的产物,是诗人无意识中倾吐了自己和广大人们的苦闷、渴望和追求的强烈情感的自然流露所致。
Satan in Paradise Lost has been all the concern, and his complex image brings about different interpretations from different perspectives. This article makes a re-view of his image. While, in essence, he is villain throughout the poem, he shows a psychological complexity, i.e., the combination of personal conscious and collective unconscious, the spontaneous overflowing of his powerful depression, distressing and aspiration about himself.
