Several methods of demolishing a 74-high brick chimney in complicated surroundings are presented and their feasibilities are analyzed in safety, economy and rationality aspects, and the optimum method is decided. This optimizing procedure of methods choices for demolishing tower buildings can be referenced by other engineers in practice.
