The hardware and software design of a network-attached recorder based on the embedded uClinux and ARM microcontroller is introduced. The questions such as the choices of microcontroller, the design of IDE interface and the application based on the embedded uClinux operation system are discussed. At last, the scheduling policy for the implementation of a network-attached recorder is analyzed briefly.
