硫元素以半胱氨酸,胱氨酸和其他形式的含硫有机分子是生命物质不可缺少的组分。所有生物均在硫的生物地球化学循环中发生作用,但是,某些类型的细菌在其代谢反应过程中可以参与硫的转换,构成独特的生物氧化还原循环。微生物参入的主要代谢反应包括:硫酸盐生物同化还原作用,硫酸盐生物异化还原作用和硫化物(还原硫)生物氧化作用。深入探讨上述三种过程的环境条件及有关的生物类型对研究成矿作用及指导找矿工作具有不容忽视的意义。
Organic molecules of sulfur,in the form of cysteine,methionine and othersulfur-containing organic associations,are an essential component of living matter.In fact,all organisms exert themselves on biogeochemical circulation of sulfur.Inaddition to that,certain bacteria do something with the transformation of sulfurduring metabolisms,forming a unique biological oxidation-reduction cycle.Theprincipal types of microbial metabolism involved in sulfur transformation include:biological assimilatory reduction of sulfate,biological dissimilatory reduction ofsulfate and biological oxidation of sulfide.Investigations of environmental conditionsfor the above three processes and the related kinds of organisms will help understandbiomineralization and direct ore prospecting.
