摘要
比较了葫芦科和百合科的5种植物的不同组织中8种单链核糖体失活蛋白在兔网织红细胞裂解液中对蛋白质合成的抑制活性,以及对完整细胞的毒性作用。结果表明,其中的绝大多数单链毒素在无细胞体系中对蛋白质合成具有强烈的抑制作用,而对完整细胞的毒性很低。
Ribosome-inactivating proteins (RIPs) from plants inactivate eukaryotic ribosome
by rendering their 60S subunit unable to bind elongation factor 2. In this study, the inhibitory ac-
tivity of 8 single chain RIPs from Cucurbitaceae and Liliaceae plants in protein synthesis in
cell-free system and their cytotoxicities to intact cells were compared. It was shown that most of
these single chain RIPs could inhibit protein synthesis in rabbit reticulocyte lysate, but had no ef-
fect on intact cells.
