From September 1996 to April 1997, the archaeologists of Luoyang excavated some Eastern Zhou tombs in the construction site of the Luoyang Knitting Mill. Of them, ClM5269 deserves special men-tion. This tomb with a rectangular vertical earthen pit was robbed in early days. All of its furniture, two coffins within a tomb chamber, have decayed. A total of eighty pieces or sets of funerary objects are mainly bronze and jade ones. Of the bronze category, there are such ritual objects as tripod, water-pourer with a loop-handle and square vase as well as everyday utensils like oven, lamp and so on. The jade arti-cles include ornament, disc and an inscribed jade tripod never encounter before in Luoyang area. Pres-ence of a large amount of weapons implies that the tomb owner was a man quite high in the then aristocrat-is hierarchy.
