摘要
纵观人类翻译史 ,可以说也是一种文化对另一种文化产生影响力的历史。总的来说 ,翻译对译语文化的影响力是积极的 ,但也不排除产生消极影响。换句话说 ,翻译既可以促进文化交流和文化进步 ,也可能起歪曲、抑制的作用 ,导致原语文化信息在译语文化环境中的变形 ,玷污、破坏译语语言文化。本文试图通过正反两方面例子 ,对翻译在译语文化中的影响进行一番历史的回顾、分析与思考。
The history of translation is the history of the shaping power of one culture upon another. In its enormous influence on constructing the target culture, translation plays a double role. More often than not, translation plays a positive role by enriching the target language and culture; but it can also repress, distort, contain, undermine and corrupt the target language and culture. With examples, the paper attempts to show that whether the effects are positive or not depends much on the translator.
