摘要
多媒体通信是一种新型的通信系统，它是指表示、存储、重现和传输多媒体信息，诸如文本、语音、图形、图像、音响和影像等。本文讨论多媒体通信的概念，多媒体计算机，多媒体通信网以及多媒体信号处理，同时也列举若干多媒体通信系统的例子。
Multimedia communications is a new type of communication system,it is the field referrlng to the representation,storage,retrieval and dissemination of information expressed in multiple media,such as text,voice,graphics,image,audio and vedio. In this paper the idea of multimedia communication,multi-media computer,multimedia network and multimedia signal processing are discussed,and several examples of multimedia communication system are presented also.
