The reason why the effective nuclear charges Z and and also the △values of d-orbital energy level split of the heavy platinum metal ions are higher than those of the light ones was further discussed.By utilizing a lot of comparable data the demonstration was made repeatedly that the thermodynamic stability and kinetic inertness of heavy platinum group metal coordination compounds are higher than those of the light ones.
