摘要
建国以来，经济林生产取得巨大的成绩。林业的重要作用是三个方面：保护环境、提供木材及其制品、提供经济林产品，经济林是三分天下有其一。１９９３年全国经济林总产值是５００亿元，也是林业总产值的１／３。经济林是为人类社会持续发展服务的。由于经济林产品的重要性、不可替代性、特殊性，是一个独立的新兴行业，具有无限发展的潜力。为了建立高效经济林业，必须面向市场，建立商品基地；为了推行先进技术，全方位推进经济林生产的进步和发展，必须建立健全社会化服务体系，加强科学研究和人才培养。经济林要借用高科技生物技术，改良品种，改善产品，走向世界。
Since the founding of the
People’s Republic of China great progress has been madein the production of nontimber
product forest crops.It is argued that forests in general areimportant in three ways :to protect
the environment ,supply wood and wood products,and offernontimber forest products. The total
product value from nontimber product forest crops in 1993amounted to 50 billion yuan(
RMB),accounting for one third of the total prodtuct value fromforest products as whole.
Nontimber product forest crops are grown to meet the needs of society whose
sustainedprogress is well expected.The products of these crops are special ,indispensable
and irreplaceable,so they have generated a new and independent industry with good promise.
It is suggested thatproduction base areas be set up to make the industry market─oriented and
highly profitable;that a perfect socialized service system be established to help extend
advanced techniques andtechnologies;and that scientific research and professional training be
strengthened to make use ofbiotechnology to improve crop varieties.
