摘要
长久以来 ,我们都是从语言学和社会语言学的角度去理解、研究第二语言习得的各种问题 ,语言学研究成果一直是第二语言习得研究和第二语言教学的基础 ,受其影响 ,语言结构知识 (即语法知识 )被认为是二语学习过程 (包括听、说、读、写 )中最基本的环节。但近年来 ,一些人从认知心理学的角度研究第二语言习得过程 ,发现在口语交际的过程中 ,无论是本族语者还是第二语言习得者的大脑语言加工机制都更多地依赖于词汇化的句项而不是语法规则知识。本文是在作者设计执行的一个调查的基础上 ,通过考察大学英语专业二年级学生英语故事复述过程 ,以了解在我国学生的英语口语表达中 ,语言结构知识起多大的作用 ,习惯表达起多大的作用 ,语言加工机制是基于语法规则还是基于对固定用词格式的记忆。
For a long time, syntactic system has been portrayed as fundamental and pervasive in language learning. But there is an alternative perspective in recent years, which suggests that language is much more lexical than is usually accepted, particularly when real-time processing is concerned. Based on a research designed and conducted by the author on a story-reproduction task among grade-two English majors, this paper intends to prove that an analytic system is often bypassed as a result of the pressures of real-time communication and that much of the time we rely, during rapid communication, on large chunks of memorized language. We rely on such chunks to ease processing problems, using them to ‘buy' processing time while other computation proceeds, enabling us to plan ahead for the content of what we are going to say, as well as the linguistic form....
