大足石窟艺术是“唐盛而宋不衰”的最好的例证。它具有三方面突出的典型性:宗教性与世俗性的有机结合;艺术性与科学性的有机结合;规划性与灵活性的有机结合。它是遵循艺术创造规律、继承与创新有机统一的成功范例,是合乎历史逻辑的自然发展产物,给我们以无比深刻而丰富的启示。
Dazu Grotto is the best example of 'prosperous in Tang Dynasty but not declined in Song Dynasty'. Its typical features are demonstrated in the organic integration of different elements between religion and common custom, art and science, layout and agility. And it is a successful example of creation following art rules, unifying inheritance and innovation; it is a natural outcome according with historical logic. It gives us inimitable, profound, and abundant revelations.
