The issue of food safety has great political and economic impacts on both individual consumer and society. Thisarticle introduces EU and USA new progress on criteria and technologis of detection of pathogens in food from the followingfour aspects: 1) quality control of food microorganism; 2) detection techniques of food microorganism; 3) demonstration ofnewly recognized detection techniques; 4) profile of bioMerieux AOAC international recognization.
