The article reviews the modern significance and charm of An gela Carter's works by way of unscrambling her three fairy tales: The Bloody Chamber, The Company of Wolves, and The Tiger's Bride. She has rewritten classic fairy tales successfully and used Gothic elements to play up the eerie and horrific atmosphere. Carter puts the stories into the setting of wide modern society. It has reached unification both of traditional form and modern significance. Carter's work is distinguished by its lush writing, its eroticism and feminism thought in the stories. She has overthrown the traditional binary opposition between male and female identity. She has also explored the relationship between feminist claim of equality and existent discursive power mechanism. Besides, she also reinvented the fairy tales for adult public and created a lot of modern attractive female characters.
