Ground surface parameters are closely related to the ground conditions and are the foundation of inferring the regional scale evaporation and studying the surface energy exchange. Many scientists pay special attention to the methods of deriving the parameters based on remote sensing data. The ground surface parameters include the surface temperature, vegetation index and the albedo, etc. They are mainly deduced by using the AVHRR and TM data in the Yellow River Delta (YRD) in this paper. The surface parameters and their reasonable combination can give us more information on the ground conditions: (1) the change characteristics of natural vegetation NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) are distinguished with the farm NDVI; (2) the relationship between the NDVI and the albedo is a power function in the fully covered areas by vegetation, and between the surface temperature and the albedo is a linear function in the dry or wet condition; (3) the canopy in the YRD is low; (4) the area of bare soils is big, the land surface is wet, and the evaporation is great.
