摘要
美国“西进运动”对西部的拓殖造成了大陆“边疆”的移动。作为相对概念的“边疆”不断地产生,又不断地向西移动,最终在19世纪末基本消失在太平洋沿岸。特纳在分析这一历史进程的基础上,提出了著名的“边疆”假说,论述了“边疆”对美国社会产生的深刻影响。文章就“边疆假说”产生的背景、主要内容和意义进行了分析和评价。
The American “Westward Movement”caused the moving of continental “frontiers”during the colonization of the West.Frontiers,as a relative concept,continuously appeared,and then continuously moved westward,finally disappeared at the Pacific coast at the end of the 19th century.Based on the analysis of this historical course,Turner put forward his famous “Theory of Frontiers”, which elaborated its important influence on American society.This thesis conducts analysis and evaluation according to its main content and significance.
