The last quarter of the 20 century saw in both Chinese and Canadian novels postmodern elements. These elements are shown not only in theme and style, but also in narrative perspective, moral values and mental perception. Among other things in common, these works emphasize form and word game, but deliberately stay from narration, logic and definite time and place.
