This paper introduces a practical case of demolishing two reinforced concrete single-curvature arch bridges by using controlled blasting.The two bridges are adjacent to two newly built expressway bridges.Only the upper structure of the old bridges is required to be dismantled by demolition. The selection of blasting program,determination of blasting paramters and safety protective measures for two reinforfced concrete single-curvature arch bridges are discussed in detail.
