运用现代海洋学和古海洋学的最新理论,通过对中奥陶统沉积特征的详细分析和研究,认为中奥陶统的灰岩/ 泥岩交互沉积韵律层段是在风暴流和深海-半深海洋流的作用下形成的.中奥陶统主要为半深水陆棚沉积环境,并对其沉积相模式进行了详细的重建.
Detailed study and analysis of the Middle Ordovician at Keping, Xinjiang shows the Middle Ordovician has rhythmically interbedded limestone and mudstone formed under the influence of the deep and semi-deep sea currents and the storm tides. Periodic currents moving towards the continent are influenced by shallow platform deposits and transport terrigenous deposits such as clay which influence carbonate production and periodically causes rhythmic limestone-mudstone deposition. The sedimentary environment is mainly semi-deep water shelf.
