摘要
本文从如下几个方面对社会语言学进行了概述:社会语言学形成的社会背景;社会语言学发展的五个阶段;社会语言学的探索领域;社会语言学的分类;著名语言学家在社会语言学方面取得的成就;社会语言学的研究方法。
This article gives a brief account of sociolinguistics,based on the following aspects——the social background against which sociolinguistics came into being,the five stages in its development,the fields it explores,the classification of it,the achievements owed to several noted linguistics and the research methods applied in this subject.
