The creating process and design contents of the First Prize plan in the 42nd IFLA International Landscape Architecture Student Design Competition held in Edinburgh of UK are introduced in this paper. The children's safety issue is reconsidered by the plan. Taking Ju'er Hutong as the example, the plan attempts to form the children's safe growing-up model by putting series of safety box in the hutong. The model can solve the safety problem of children in traditional communities, and meets the needs of modern life styles while continuing the culture and way of life in the traditional communities. The most important is that friendly neighborhood is restored with children as the ties, which also contribute to the harmony of the whole society.
