Over the past two and half decades,the scientific achievements of DSDP/ODP havebeen leading to the birth of newly-emerged global geology , which , in turn with its rapid ad-vances including sequence stratigraphy and basin modelling , promotes greatly the refine-ments of petroleum exploration in both theory and practice. The studies on the global eventreveals that the world’s hydrocarbon resouces are controlled by the oceanic annoxic eventsthat happened during the mid-Cretaceous epoch.
