Since 1980s, there formed an imperfect mining situation i. e. overload mining groundwater in villages and towns in out-ring of Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou.Therefore, No.Ⅱ confined water level in three cities have been continuously decreased.Through the analysis on hydrogeological conditions of No.Ⅱ confined aquifers or groups and their mining state as well as main environmental geological troubles, the classification method, principle and standard of overload mining districts in No.Ⅱ confined aquifer have been systematically established, without present standard applying, taking the ratio between practical mining and workable resources amounts as fundamental condition and taking subsidence extent and speed of groundwater drawdown as confined conditions. The distribution of No.Ⅱ confined water are divided into five districts i. e. serious, heavy, medium, light over load and non-over load mining districts. The hydrogeological data from monitor system can be applied in the dispensation of water mining of licenses and management of groundwater resources in three cities.
