摘要
科学的功能不仅体现在物质功能上,更重要的是体现在精神功能上。科学的精神功能主要包括:破除迷信和教条的批判功能,帮助解决社会问题的社会功能,促进社会民主、自由的政治功能,塑造世界观和智力氛围的文化功能,认识自然界和人本身的认知功能,提供解决问题的方法和思维方式的方法功能,给人以美感和美的愉悦的审美功能,训练人的心智和提升人的思想境界的教育功能。
The functions of science not only embody material functions but also spiritual functions. The spiritual functions of science mainly include the critical function of doing away with superstitions and dogmas; the social function of helping us solve social problems; the political function of promoting social democracy and freedom; the cultural function of modeling world outlook and intellectual atmosphere; the cognitive fimction of understanding nature and human beings; the methodological function of providing methods and modes of thinking; the aesthetic fimetion of giving human beings a sense of beauty and joy; the educational fuaction of training the human mind and elevating man＇s ideological level.
