摘要
湘西南区氧化锰矿以锰帽型氧化锰矿为主，赋矿地层为震旦系下统湘锰组，其特点是含锰点多、分布面广，矿体在地表贫化，往下３～７ｍ开始富集，氧化深度４０ｍ左右。
Ores of manganese oxide in Southwest Hunan exist mainly in manganese stain.The strata in which ores occur are Xiangmeng formation of Lower Sinian System,being characterized by plenty of ore spots and a wide distribution of them.Grade of manganese is generally poor at the surface but it commences to get rich from 3～7 m below the surface.Depth of oxidation may reach to about 40 m.
