Objective To investigate the degradation of poly (L/DL-Lacfide)(PLDLA)internal fixation devices in vivo. Methods The models of mandibular body fracture were created and fixed with PLDLA plates and screws. The rabbits were sacrificed at 1,2,4,8 weeks after operation, The molecular weight and mechanics of PLDLA plates were investigated. Results Bony union was excellent. The PLDLA plates were gradually absorbed with time going on during observation, Conclusion PLDLA plates can be gradually biodegraded in vivo, which is correspondent with the fracture-healing process.
