Several kinds of practical new biosensors have been developed. they are SBA Model 30 Biosensor,SBA Model 40 Bi-electrode Biosensor. Their main characters are rapid responese (20 seconds), high precision, accuracy, high specialization, small sample size (25 ul), stationary response (CV<2%), easy to operate and low cost for analysis. UP to now, two handreds of the analyzers have been used in physical training,industry fermentation control, food analysis and scientific research. The application of these biosensors is the following.(1)Glucose Analysis Superior to traditional Fehling’analysis,glucose biosensor provides more scencific and rapid analy sis method. Enzyme electrode method will be enlisted in new“National Standard of Glucose Analysis Method in Food”.(2) Lactate Analysis Lactate analysis has been widely used in physical training. Biosensor analysis could effectively guide scientific endurence training.Determination of concentration of Lactate is necessary in amino acid fermentation,but it isn’t list ed in regular analysis in MSG factory because it’s sophsicated method and variable result. Lactate biosensor solves this problem. Now Lactate analysis is popular in MSG factory.In glutamate aerobic fermentation,various reasons could raise concentration of Lactate such as ex cessive biotin, high bacteria density,high temperature, less ventilation,wet of blocking filter etc.De termination and control of some microbial aerobic culture by Lactate analysis is a more economic and effective method than determination of fermentor DO.(3)Glutamate Analysis The most use of SBA Model 40 biosensor is glutamate rapid analysis in MSG factory. It can com pletely replace the traditional Warburg Manometric Apparatus method in strain screening,fermenta tion,ion exchange retrieval and ofther processes.(4)Other Application Biosensor has potential application value in many fermentation products,such as alcohol control of fermentation liquor in alcohol manufacture,glucose regulation in antibiotics factory, production of ac tive dry yeast,determination of glucose and alcohol in glycerine fermentation, fermentation control of glucornic acid etc.
