摘要
高等教育是国家西部大开发中给予重点发展的产业。作为高校最重要的资料库、信息库,西部高校图书馆必须在西部大开发中发挥重要的作用,这是社会的要求,也是西部高校图书馆自身发展的需要。西部高校图书馆要抓住机遇,迎接挑战,采取积极的措施参与西部大开发,即:为学校提供文献保障;为科研工作提供信息服务;为培养西部特色人才提供特色服务;甚至直接参与地方经济建设。
Higher education has been given special attention by our nation in the western development. As the important data bank and information storehouse, the libraries in western universities must play an important part in the nation＇s western development. This is the demand from society and libraries＇ self-improvement. The libraries should take the chances, tackle the challenges and adopt positive measure to sustainable participate in the western development. Such as： to school to improve the document safeguant, to scientific research to improve the information service, to training werstem special talent to improve the special serivce, even to directly participation the locate economy constmetion.
