据不完全统计,从1980~2002年间,日本东丽、三菱人造丝和东邦Tenax公司所申请的有关PAN原丝及其碳纤维的专利,各320篇、近250篇和近60篇,其中东丽和三菱人造丝的专利覆盖了各段工艺技术、不同性能档次制品及其辅料,而东邦Tenax相对处于弱势,然而到2004年该公司发表了较大量的超高强、超高强中模等专利,三菱人造丝则发表碳纳米纤维、原纤化碳纤维、短切碳纤维、大丝束碳纤维等专利,东丽相对发表较少。
The applications of patents about PAN precusor and its carbon fiber from Toray, Mitsubishi rayon and Toho tenax group companies during 1980 to 2002 are nearly 320, 250 and 60 pieces respectively, in which the patents from Toray and Mitsibishi even cover the technologies of whole processes including the precusor, oxidized fiber, carbon fiber, graphite fiber and their equipments etc., while the patents from Toho tenax are less in quantities, but in recent years especially in 2004, the patents from Toho tenax increase fast, especially in high strength, high modulus and high breaking elongation carbon fibers and their precusor. Mitsubishi rayon is the second more one, while Toray is the less one.
