The principle of the liquid automatic particle counter and the parameters for influencing the particle counter accuracy were introduced, and the differences of the new and old standards for the instrument calibration were enumerated. The function and method of size calibration, and that the appropriate particle contamination level standards should be used for the different calibration methods were discussed.
