摘要
新时期之初,中国文学界在意识形态和诗学方面都处于转型阶段。一方面,旧有的文学作品无论在思想内容上还是表现手法上都不能够满足时代和读者的需要,多元系统中文学这个子系统一度出现真空,为西方现当代作品的汉译创造了条件。但另一方面,旧有的意识形态和诗学传统并没有顷刻消散,西方现代派作品的译介经历了步履维艰的过程之后才逐渐获得了译介的合法性,并成为新时期外国文学翻译的主旋律。
As far as literature is concerned, China found itself in a period of transformation in both ideology and poetics in the beginning years of the New Epoch. The literature that prevailed during the Culture Revolution came to be regarded as lacking either in content or in expression, unable to cater to the readers in the new historical context. This resulted in a vacuum in the domain of literature, thus leaving the introduction of Western modernist works as an inevitable option. Yet the lingering of old ideology and poetics hindered the translation in China of Western modernism. Only after the arduous efforts of the scholars and translators did these works gain their legality of translation, and finally become the most important objects of translation.
