摘要
“文化转向”给传统的翻译研究带来了新的视野与挑战。本文追溯“文化转向”的渊源,从新的视角分析其实质,指出:“文化转向”倾向于脱离传统翻译观的本体研究,用文化研究取代语言研究;文化学派其实没有形成普遍的翻译理论来合理地描写翻译过程,而是夸大了文化的制约作用,其从外部因素切入翻译研究的结论也只是经验性的归纳;“文化转向”只是翻译研究的一个重要方面而不应是翻译研究的全部。通过对“文化转向”的反思,有必要明确译学的任务,更新译学观念,在平等理性的交流中开展翻译文化研究,推进译学建设。
The Cultural Turn that has heralded a major modern tendency is considered to be a great challenge to traditional translation theories.Admitting that cultural studies of translation is one of the important domains in translation studies,this paper analyzes the nature of the Cultural Turn and then points out that cultural translation theorists tend to neglect the ontological nature of translation studies and overemphasize cultural constraints,which may lead translation studies farther away from its academic purposes such as to predict and describe the process of translation.Finally,some suggestions are put forward in response to the challenge raised by the Cultural Turn.()
