《To His Coy Mistress》 is an extraordinary and excellent poem by Andrew Marvell. Its artistic charm is reflected by differet techniques. This paper tends to analyze its charm from the poet＇ s witty use of figures of speech. In this poem, Marvel succeeded in making figurative language and poetic theme reach a perfect unity. MarveU mainly employed the followingg figures of speech： hyperbole, metaphor, symbolism, allusion, irony, contrast, and climax.
