摘要
１９９６年上半年全世界共发生６级以上地震５８次。其中７级以上地震１０次，成灾的地震１０次，死亡人数总计５１０人，伤约１．５万人。经济损失为８３亿～１００亿元人民币（约合８．８亿～１２亿美元）。其中我国境内灾害地震３次，死亡人数共计３４９人，伤约１．４５万人，经济损失约７８亿元人民币。我国因地震死亡的总人数约占全世界地震死亡总人数的６８％；经济损失占全世界的８５％以上。
During the first half of the year 1996, there were 58 earthquakes of M≥6 occurring all over the world,including 10 M≥7 earthquakes,and 10 damaging earthquakes.Altogether in the world,510 people dead,15000 injured,8.3 billion to 10 billion RMB(about 0.88 billion to 1.2 billion US dollars)economic losses were caused by earthquakes.Among those earthquakes,3 damaging earthquakes occurred within the Chinese boundaries,causing 349 dead,14500 injured and about 7.8 billion RMB economic losses.The death number caused by earthquakes in China accounted for about 68 percent of the total death number caused by earthquakes in the world;the economic losses in China accounted for more than 85 percent of the total economic losses in the world.
