Empirical Analysis on the Adjustment Costs of Trade in Manufactures between China and Japan and Korea: A Marginal Intra - Industry Trade Approach

摘要本文基于边际产业内贸易分析,分别运用A、B和S指数测度法对1992-2003年间中国与日韩制造业贸易的调整成本进行了经验研究。研究结果表明,中国电气机械及器材制造、普通机械等以资本技术密集型产品为主的行业调整成本较大,而服装及纤维品制造、木材加工等以劳动密集型产品为主的行业调整成本较小。总体而言,这一时期中国与日本制造业贸易调整成本低于中国与韩国制造业贸易调整成本,但是中国与韩国制造业贸易调整成本在1998年后是趋于下降的,而日本情况却与此相反。 This paper investigates the adjustment costs of trade in manufactures between China and Japan and Korea by using A, B, and C indexes of marginal IIT（ MIIT）. We find that, the adjustment costs of Chinese capital and technology - intensive industries such as electric equipment and machinery, ordinary machinery, etc. are high, while that of labor - intensive industries such as garments and other fiber products, timber processing, etc. is low. Generally speaking, the adjustment costs of trade in manufacture~ between China and Japan is lower than that of trade between China and Korea over the 1992 - 2003 periods. However, the adjustment costs of trade between China and Korea is descending after 1998, while that of trade between China and Japan is ascending.
