摘要
《左传》虚饰,包括杜撰情节、修饰人物语言、描写细节和场面,也包括史官对不同来源的材料的自由组合。这些载录中都包括了史官的想象、选择等主观性因素,是前所未有的。《左传》虚饰并非出于文学的目的,而是为了追寻事件中的道德意义,符合当时的“实录”观念,是叙事理性化的一个必然阶段。史官对人物德性的重视、自我在场的道德实践以及立言之志等,都必然会导致虚饰的产生。《左传》是史官的“传闻”之史,它与“典策”文献相互支持,而《春秋》笔法对《左传》的虚饰有着直接的影响。此外,“传闻”之史较为自由的传播、载录方式,也为虚饰提供了条件。虚饰将巫史文化中的神秘审判,转变为现实社会的道义审判。
The fabrications in Zuozhuan include not only plot creations, characters' speech decorations, and the addition of descriptive details and scenes, but also the compiler's free will in combining historical data from different resources. So there are various types of subjective factors, such as the historiographer's imaginations and preferences. This is a phenomenon which is unprecedented in the history of historiography. The fabrications in Zuozhuan do not result from literary purpose, but from seeking moral significance, a way which accords well with the then popular idea of "factual recording". In fact, it is an inevitable stage of narration rationalization. The historiographer' s treasuring of the character morality, the moral practicing, and the ambition of making speeches, all have led to the fabrications. So Zuozhuan is the historiographer' s "hearsay-history", which sees a mutual confirmation with the recordings in "Dian Ce". But Chunqiu's critical style has also an immediate effect on the fabrications in Zuozhuan. Furthermore, the free and casual style of the "hearsay- history" also provided conditions for the fabrications. Therefore, the fabrications converted the mystical trial of witch culture to the morality trail of realistic society.
