摘要
科技英语词汇的形成和构成特点有:普通词汇专业化、借用其它学科词汇、运用合成词、运用缩略词语和借用外来语。科技英语词汇的翻译要遵循准确、地道、精炼的原则,采取意译、字面译、音译、半音半意译、形译、移植译和采用外文缩写词几种翻译方法。
There are some features in the origin and structure of EST（English for Science and Technology） words as follows： specialized common words, words originating from other subjects, compound words, abridged words and words originating from foreign languages. Translation of EST words should be based on the principle of being accurate,professional and refined. We can adopt the following translating skills： free translation, literal translation, transliteration, translation based on both pronunciation and meaning, translation based on shape, transplant translation and abridged alphabet translation.
