摘要
本文将主位推进与修辞学相结合，探讨了主位推进在句际、段际乃至整个语篇层面的修辞功能，这种功能具体体现在衔接与连贯、设格和布局谋篇上。
Combining thematic progression with rhetoric, the present study tries to discuss the rhetoric functions of thematic progression in sentences, paragraphs and the whole text. The functions are manifested by the coherence and cohesion, form of figures of speech, and arrangrnent of the whole text.
