摘要 博物馆的虚拟展示对博物馆在教育和科普方面都具有重要意义,但目前大多数虚拟现实技术在实现一个低成本的,桌面型的,面向网络的三维虚拟博物馆系统时都有着不同程度的不足。本文针对虚拟博物馆的特点及需求,给出一个基于XML的适于描述虚拟博物馆场景的场景描述语言XVM。XVM根据展示环境与藏品模型分离的设计原则,有效地利用了馆藏资源的各种数字信息,并在一定程度上降低了网络传输量。在XVM的基础上,一套虚拟博物馆构建及漫游系统已被初步实现,并在实际应用中取得良好的效果。 Virtual presentation for museum has played an important role in education and popular science, however, most of the current virtual reality technologies often fall short in building a low-cost, desktop-based and networked 3D virtual museum system. After analyzing the characteristics and requirements of virtual museum, this paper introduces an XML-based scene description language for virtual museum called XVM was introduced. Based on the design principle separating presentation environment and collection model XVM effectively utilizes the digital resource of the collections, and reduces the network traffic load to a certain extend. The virtual museum authoring and navigating system has been implemented and successfully applied in practical use.
