Objective To develop the health education on labor progress and improve the controlled success rate of "one to one" whole process assisted delivery. Methods The need of lying-in women for health education on labor progress was surveyed among 300 lying-in women. The controlled success rates of whole process assisted delivery in hospitalized lying--in women and the human resources between the group in the year of 2004 (413 cases) and the group in the year of 2005 (368 cases) were studied, respectively. Results The major topics of the health education were the knowledge of reducing the sufferings and other important problems in labor progress. At the same time, there was a significant difference in the controlled success rates of "one to one" whole process assisted delivery and the human resources between the group in the year of 2004 and the group in the year of 2005 (P 〈 0.01), Conclusions "One to one" whole process assisted delivery is helpful to develop the health education on labor progress and improve the controlled success rate, and insure the safety of laboring women and fetuses.
