美国文化霸权主义的形成有其深厚的历史原因和现实基础。美利坚民族的国民信仰,根深蒂固的清教徒意识及其独特的民族经历和民族文化是其在全球范围内实行文化霸权的历史原因和内在源泉。冷战后国际环境的变化和美国经济、军事等硬权力的不断膨胀及其信息技术的优势和对传播媒体的垄断构筑了美国文化霸权战略的现实基础。
The American cultural hegemonism is deeply rooted in its history and reality. The firm national belief, the inveterate mission sense of the Puritan, and the unique national experience and culture constitute the history cause and inner source of its worldwide cultural hegemonism; The changing international environment after the cold-war, the expanding ＂hard-power＂ in economics and the military, the superiority in information and the monopolization in the media provided firm basis for the cultural hegemonism strategy of the United States.
