Under natural low temperature (18℃) cold damage circumstances in Kunming , the marginal effect on cold tolerance at the booting stage of BC5F4 generation of hybrids from near-isogenic line (BC4F6) of Donor parent Kunmingxiaobaigu and Towada (indica rice) was analyzed. The results showed that : (1) The effective tillering and bligthed grains were affected by the marginal effect, its marginal effect index was 1.6564 and 1.4034; plant height, flag leaf length, flag leaf width, peduncle length, node length under spike, first to second node length, ear length, full grains, total grains and seed setting rate were low effect, their indexs were between 0.9708-1.2371 ; (2) There is the clear diffrence on correlation of some traits between interior and outer populations, which shows each property in interior populations outgos outer, with cold tolerant traits including plant height , ear length or cold tolerant index traits including peduncle length, node length under spike, first to second node length, full grains, total grains and seed setting rate.Their correlation were significant at 1% level. (3) The distribution of plant height, peduncle length, node length under spike, first to second node length,' ear length, full grains, total grains, and seed setting rate are consistent, which show the character of quantitative traits, but there are some differences on major mean in differerent populations, especially cold tolerant index traits.
