Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the value of spin echo (SE), turbo spin echo (TSE) and fluid attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), so as to provide more valuable imformation for clinical therapy. Method: SE, TSE, FLAIR images were obtained in 28 MS patients ( 13 males, and 15 females, age ranged 10 - 59years, average age 34.5years). All of the data were processed: 1. The recognition ability of SE T1WI, TSE T2WI, FLAIR image for MS were evaluated by calculating the number of lesions. All of the results were analysed by two - way anova using SPSS 11.5 software. Resullt: The number of the lesion in paraventricular and subcortical regions and the total number displayed in TSE and FLAIR were higer than that in SE. There was no significant difference between TSE and FLAIR in the number of lesion in the paraventricular and subcortical region, but the total number of the lesions had significant difference between TSE and FLAIR. Conclusion: The routine examination of MS should include SE T1WI, TSE T2WI and FLAIR sequences. FLAIR was more sensitive than TSE T2WI and SE T1WI.
