Fu Manchu and Charlie Chan used to be the dominant Chinese American stereotypes in American popular culture. One of them portrayed as devil and the other as a model minority man, both lack masculinity. Being desexualized, subordinated and marginalized, these orientalized stereotypes produce disadvantageous effects on the new generation of overseas Chinese through inheritance, hurt their feelings and frustrate their minds. Chinese American writers such as Frank Chin are endeavoring to rectify these racial stereotypes with new Chinese American men of maseulinities.
