摘要
第二语言习得中发音和感知的关系较为复杂。研究表明,在音段层面上感知具有优先地位,学习者发音错误的主要原因在于使用了第一语言的感知范畴。本文在功能音系学框架内,利用功能音系学中的发音和感知语法对中国EFL学习者的一些常见音段发音错误进行形式上的评价。从感知语法分析中,我们可以看出学习者使用了汉语的感知策略,即汉语感知制约条件的排序。由于言语产出语法底层输入形式本质上是感知特征赋值,所以言语产出语法制约条件的排序也反映出这些发音错误的感知根源。汉语范畴感知对英语发音的干扰表明,感知教学应该成为第二语言语音习得的一个重要内容。
Studies of L2 sound acquisition have shown that perception precedes production at the segmental level, and that L2 learners' production errors are the result of the application of L1 categories in their production. The present paper attempts to do a formal functional analysis of production errors of Chinese EFL learners. A grammar-based analysis of the learners' perception shows that they have adopted Chinese perceptional strategies in their production. Because the underlying representation in the production grammar is perceptional by nature, the Chinese constraints constitute the source of perception-induced production errors. The interference of the Chinese categories in L2 English production suggests that an emphasis should be put on the perception-oriented teaching and learning.
