The main existing state of oil in engine room include： liquid oil, oil smoke, oil mist and spray. When the concentration of oil mist and spray reach a certain level, it may cause the danger of fire and explosion. The principle preventive measure is to install a OMD. It can prevent explosion by detecting the concentration of oil mist and making an alarm when it＇s too high.
