Launched in 2002, the Hununan Rights magazine operates under the attspices of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, a non-governmental organization in SPECIAL consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. The magazine is the first of its kind ever published in China. While devoted to theoretical studies of human rights and human rights education, it provides a forum for dialogue between China and foreign cotmtries on human rights-related issues.
