The close cultural association in the color painting of Lin Fengmian lies in the influences on his artistic styles by occidental and oriental cultures. Lin devoted his life to the blending of Chinese and western painting, profoundly influenced by Schopenhauer in the forming of his artistic styles, abundantly nourished by the Chinese folk art and artistically inspired by natural culture.
