摘要
运用定量和定性研究相结合的方法,考察了中国大学新生母语水平、二语水平及其二语阅读能力之间的关系。多元回归分析表明:中国大学新生的汉语水平与英语水平之间似乎没有关联;被试的英语水平对其英语阅读能力有较强的预测力,但其母语水平与英语阅读能力之间的相关程度不显著。
This paper, using quantitative & qualitative approaches, examines the relationship of L1 proficiency, I2 proficiency and I2 reading ability in the context of Chinese coUege freshmen. A multiple regression analysis shows that the participants' L1 and L2 proficiencies do not seem to be corelated to each other. The correlation between their L2 proficiency and reading ability is significantly positive, but their L1 proficiency proves to be not closely related to L2 reading ability.
